Permafrost Extreme Makeover Quest: Rat Queen Renovation & 0/5 Fixes
Stuck on Extreme Makeover in Permafrost? Check the Rat Queen quest hand-in, missing 0/5 repair spots, Logan dialogue workarounds and the latest official status.
If Extreme Makeover is active but the Rat Queen camp has no repair outlines and stays at 0/5, the developers acknowledge missing renovation spots. A general fix is still listed as in progress. If you renovated earlier, Logan may offer a dialogue response that lets you continue. That conditional workaround does not establish a way to repair a fresh, empty 0/5 objective.
PC Early Access. Sources checked October 17, 2026. This is a source-based walkthrough, not a hands-on verification of all repair pieces. The official quest-issues post is titled “Updated October 16”; the October 16 patch notes do not announce a general renovation fix.

Identify which stage is stuck

These are separate symptoms. A dialogue workaround does not restore missing world objects, and switching session modes is not a confirmed universal repair.
Start at the Parking Zoo hand-in
The quest database places Extreme Makeover in the Rat Queen conversation at Parking Zoo's report-back stage, after Queen of Rats. Its conditions still describe Parking Zoo as incomplete at that moment. Therefore, finish the hand-in conversation and inspect the renovation options, rather than treating “Parking Zoo complete” as a guaranteed trigger by itself.
The data contains alternatives to obtain permission for repairs or proceed without it. These are data-defined branches, not confirmed dialogue choices available in every save. Follow your current journal. Do not perform unrelated renovations in advance to try to force the next quest.
The developer guidance warns against exiting the post-hunt conversation with Esc, as this can prevent the next main quest from starting. If that already happened, the warning does not provide a confirmed recovery method.
Follow the documented objective order
1. Return to the Rat Queen's area
Rat Queen's Crossing is mapped as a meeting place in the Solar Facility region. The quest calls its renovation target Solar Crossing. Use the map guide for location context, then confirm that Extreme Makeover is active in your journal.
2. Renovate Solar Crossing
The general renovation system uses a Building Tool on a blue outline with the materials shown by that outline; the community guide describes left mouse button for the interaction. Inspect the actual material requirement before using your supplies. The storage guide can help organize materials between trips.
The map lists a renovation site at Rat Queen's Crossing. One site marker is not a verified layout of five individual quest pieces. We have not established their exact current-build coordinates. A materials counter such as 0/5 on an individual outline also needs to be distinguished from the quest's renovation-progress counter.
3. Report to Logan, then ask about the radio tower
The recorded objectives continue with reporting back to Logan Boyce and asking about the radio tower again. Item or blueprint rewards have not been verified for this quest, so do not plan around a promised payout.
What to do when renovation stays at 0/5
First check whether blue repair outlines exist. Visible outlines with unmet material requirements are a different situation from absent repair objects. If the entire set is missing, use the official known-issue status rather than an unverified list of roof, door or wall coordinates.
For an earlier completed renovation, inspect Logan's response about work already being finished. Developers report that it has helped some players. For a missing radio-tower question, try “Join?”. Neither is a guaranteed remedy for untouched, invisible components.
Keep a separate copy of your world save before experimenting. Avoid deleting your world or overwriting your only save to test an unsupported fix. Reloading, file verification or changing between private and co-op sessions should not be advertised as guaranteed quest repairs.

The October 14 change is not confirmation that every affected save is repaired. Neither the October 15 nor October 16 notes announce a complete Extreme Makeover progression fix. See the official announcements before applying advice to a later build.
Report a blocked save
The developers request saves through Toplitz Filehub. Their general advice is to let the host perform main quest interactions in co-op and back up the world .pfs file. Change or restore save files only while the game is closed.
In your report, distinguish “quest never appeared”, “0/5 and no outlines”, and “renovated earlier but Logan will not continue”. Include the installed build, host/guest status, journal screenshot and the last dialogue action. Preserve the original save alongside the copy you submit. If Steam Cloud presents a conflict, identify which version you intend to retain before choosing.
