Permafrost Game Price: Steam, Epic and Bundle Costs

Permafrost game price breakdown: the US$24.99 base cost, the 20% launch discount to US$19.99, Epic editions and bundles, and why the price may rise.

Short answer: The Permafrost game price is US$24.99 for the base game, with a 20% launch discount bringing it to US$19.99. That introductory offer is shown as ending on October 24, 2026. Epic sells the same base price plus higher-priced editions, and the developer has said the price will likely increase toward the full 1.0 release.

The base price and the launch discount

On Steam the base game is listed at US$24.99 and shows a 20% launch promotion at US$19.99. The store page presents the promotion as an introductory offer and shows it ending on October 24.

The date is now on the offer banner, but the exact final hour is still 待确认 — confirm the live figure in your own cart. This is a dated snapshot from the first days after launch, not a permanent price.

Steam versus Epic prices

Epic lists the same base game at US$24.99 with the same 20% cut to US$19.99. Epic showed its own promotion ending October 23, 2026 at 10:00 without an explicit timezone, a day earlier than the Steam offer banner — read each storefront's own deadline instead of assuming they run together. For the bare base game, the two storefronts matched during the launch window.

The storefronts differ mainly in editions and extras rather than in the base price. Epic also displays an ESRB Mature 17+ rating for violence, blood, alcohol use and strong language. Which platform you prefer is mostly about the extras and launcher, not the sticker price.

Editions and bundles

Beyond the base game, Epic shows a Companion Edition at US$29.99 discounted to US$23.99, and an Ultimate Edition at US$37.99 discounted to US$30.39. These bundle the game with companion apps and other extras, so they are not directly comparable to the base price.

On Steam there are also cross-title bundles. A Companion Edition bundle sat around US$29.68 discounted to US$23.74, a Medieval Dynasty x Permafrost bundle at US$53.98 discounted to US$33.73, and an Order of the Sinking Star x Permafrost bundle at US$49.48 discounted to US$44.98. Steam showed a total of seven bundles.

DLC and companion items

The game has paid extras rather than free content packs. The Official Companion app is US$7.99 discounted to US$6.39, the Official Cookbook is US$4.99 discounted to US$3.99, and a companion novel, Frozen Metropolis, is US$4.99 discounted to US$3.99.

There is also an original soundtrack among the extras. These are optional purchases and are not required to play. Bundle discounts are calculated separately from the base game's launch discount, so a bundle percentage is not the same as the base game's 20% off.

Will the price go up?

The developer states in the Early Access Q&A that it is very likely the price will increase over the course of Early Access toward a full 1.0 release. It adds that the lower starting price is intended as a token of appreciation for early players.

So US$24.99 is a launch-era price rather than a permanent one. If you are waiting for a deep sale, note that Early Access prices can rise before they fall, and a 20% launch discount on a rising base price may be better than a later discount on a higher one.

Regional pricing and the discount deadline

Prices are shown in US dollars in the regions checked. Regional prices vary by country and platform, so the figure you see may differ from the US numbers on this page. Regional differences are 待确认 unless you read your own storefront.

The Steam offer now carries October 24 as its end date, but the exact hour — and Epic's separate deadline — are still 待确认. Always confirm the amount in your cart before paying, and check whether any bundle is cheaper than buying the base game plus items separately.

How to check the current price

Use the official Steam AppID 2254990 page or the Epic Permafrost page for live pricing. The Steam page shows the base game, bundles and DLC in one place, which makes comparing easy. Third-party price trackers can help with history, but they may lag behind a short launch promotion.

Because the base game, editions and bundles are all moving parts, decide what you actually want first. If it is just the base game, compare the two storefronts directly; if you want the companion items, compare the bundle price against buying the pieces separately.
