Permafrost PS5 Release Date: What's Actually Confirmed

Short answer: There is no confirmed Permafrost PS5 release date. A PlayStation Store product page exists for the game, but at the time of this research it displayed no date, no price and no buy button. Only Windows PC has actually released, on October 9, 2026, so any PS5 date you see online is 待确认 until Sony or the developer publishes it.

The PlayStation Store page does exist

The page lives at a PlayStation Store "concept" URL for Permafrost, with Toplitz Productions named as publisher. It is listed as a PS5 Version with single-player and optional online play. That confirms the game has been registered for PlayStation, but a product page is not the same thing as a release.

Pages can exist for months or years before a game ships, and they can also be placeholders. Because this one showed no purchase option, it is best read as "coming eventually" rather than "out now". Do not treat the page's existence as a date.

No date, price or buy button was shown

At capture time the page listed platform and feature details but no launch date. There was also no price and no "add to cart" action. Without a price or a date, there is nothing concrete to put in a calendar.

This is why the honest answer to "when is Permafrost on PS5" is 待确认. The only firm date in the entire product line is the PC Early Access launch of October 9, 2026.

Online play needs PS Plus

The store page states that online play is optional and that co-op supports up to four players online. It notes that online play requires PlayStation Plus. So even when the PS5 version arrives, playing with friends online will sit behind a PS Plus subscription, the same as most PS5 online games.

The page also mentions Remote Play support and DualSense vibration support. These are standard PS5 feature tags rather than release information.

What the developer has said about consoles

A developer-run post on r/CoOpGaming introduced the game's co-op features ahead of launch. A visible comment on that post asked whether it would launch on console at the same time and whether PC and PS5 would share cross-play. No reply was captured in the sources reviewed.

That unanswered question is exactly why cross-play between PC and PS5 is 待确认. The developer has not, in the checked sources, confirmed a console date or cross-platform multiplayer.

Do not copy the PC date onto PS5

The single most common mistake is assuming the PS5 version arrived on the same day as PC. The publisher's launch announcement named only PC storefronts — Steam, GOG.com and the Epic Games Store. It did not list PlayStation.

So the PC Early Access date of October 9, 2026 belongs to PC alone. Using it for PS5 would be an invention, which is why this page keeps the PS5 date as 待确认.

How to check for a PS5 date later

Watch two places. First, the official PlayStation Store page, which will show a price and buy button only once a date is set. Second, the developer's own channels — the Steam news feed, the publisher's news page and the r/PlayPermafrost subreddit — where a console announcement would appear.

If a date is ever confirmed, expect it to be posted on those official channels first. Third-party "release date" lists that never cite Sony or the developer should be treated with suspicion.

Is a PS5 version even coming?

A registered store page strongly suggests PlayStation is planned rather than ruled out, but "planned" is not "dated". The developer has described the current focus as PC Early Access, with enhancements continuing over time.

Given the Early Access intention of at least 12 months on PC, a console release is unlikely to be immediate. Whether it lands during Early Access or after 1.0 is unknown, so both the timing and the platform list remain 待确认.
